Barcelona captain Lionel Messi becomes the football’s second billionaire

FC Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi has become football’s second billionaire beating Cristiano Ronaldo in Forbe’s rich list. Argentine Maestro remains the world’s richest soccer player in the world.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner is set to earn £98 million this year. According to a list compiled by Forbes,  Messi’s total earnings this year are $126 million ($92 million from salary and $34 million from endorsement)
Messi is the face of Adidas and has multi-year contracts with drinks company Pepsi and video games publisher Konami.
