17 October, Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Population has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a review of the order to make corona infection testing free.
On Sunday, Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population Laxman Aryal filed a review petition against the Supreme Court’s order to make corona testing free through the Attorney General’s Office.
The ministry has demanded that the order be overturned, saying it is constitutional and legal to charge for corona virus infection testing.
In a writ petition filed by advocates Lokendra Oli and Keshar Bahadur KC, the apex court had issued an order to conduct free corona virus infection testing in all private and government laboratories.
However, the Ministry of Health has insisted that the free resources are not enough for the state’s resources and manpower.
